So I got linked to this video via the Farnborough & Aldershot Bikers (FAB) Group on Facebook. The video description reads:

The rider came through the DSA process and having passed his test, had issues with his bend assessment. Lack of forward planning, shallow forward observation, speed, wrong gear…..

While I do find this kind of video interesting and educational to watch, it made me think about the constant coaching the instructor is delivering to the student. My initial reaction was that I would find that fairly irritating, but as someone on the Facebook group pointed out, a good instructor will use the most appropriate method of teaching for the student at hand.

It got me thinking about the methods I use when I teach, and what methods work best for me.
